Here are a few of the success stories we've received:

"The Montessori school where I teach moved to a new location 18 months ago. When building out our new space, lighting was installed with motion sensors to automatically dim down when students leave an area. We use fluorescent lighting and stress turning off lights, conserving water, and conserving paper."

-- Marcia from Louisville, Kentucky
"The Green Sanctuary Committee of the First Universalist Church ... has gotten a core group of members of the church to go on a Low Carbon Diet. They have taken the 10% Challenge to reduce their carbon footprints by 10% in 2011."

-- Diane from Rockport, Maine
"The utility company for Gainesville (GRU) is working with the city to offer an extremely popular program: Solar feed-in-tariff ... GRU buys back any excess solar energy generated by an individual or business at higher than the base electricity rate, giving residents a strong incentive to participate. They can't offer enough slots in this program to fill the need!"

-- Kate from Gainesville, Florida
"We worked with other town committees, the elementary school and 350.org to sponsor a day of climate action where we planted blueberry bushes and evergreen trees and replaced the light bulbs in the town library with CFLs. We have co-sponsored home weatherization workshops and distribute free CFLs through the town food shelf."
